Adventure World

Having said goodbye to Kat, who had to head home, myself and Martin then headed into the second leg of the trip travelling through all the "known" theme parks in Australia. The plan had us beginning at Perth heading East towards Sydney then up the coast to Brisbane. We got to Perth following a delayed flight and 4 hour sleep; a great start to my 40th birthday :)

The park is about 40 minutes south of Perth beside Lake Bibra. It used to have 2 rollercoasters but the second, larger one was decommissioned a few years ago.

Cute aboriginieish art. (I know that's not a word)

The one coaster is Dragon Express a kiddy ride. At this time of the year the ride is not open all day. It has alternating hourly shifts with the rocking tug next door. Despite being one of the smallest coasters on the trip it also gave us an introduction into the regulations that Australia has; I couldn't ride with my glasses, even with a strap. Bonkers!

The park is predominantly a water park with a selection of rides around it, and the majority of people who were here were here for the water park.

The slides looked OK and a cool cable car ride offered a nice view of the park, and allowed you to get up the hill without the effort.

The Top Spin was down.

The drop tower was up and the park had definitely put this in the right location at the top of the hill.

A nearby bungee platform dominating the sky line. Australia might not have the tallest coasters but they don't have any problems breaking the sky line.

and in the distance, Perth city centre.

Adventure World is a stupid credit that only the most insane of credit-whores would attempt to get. A kiddy coaster that we believe to be the most remote on the planet. (it's this one or the one in Guam). It wouldn't have been so bad if they still had the other coaster but there's no excuse with just this one. Still I can say that for my 40th I rode it - how bloody sad!
